Introduction
It is not until we are pushed to the edge that we are able to see what we are made of. I truly believe we have more ability than we give ourselves credit for.
My name is Samantha Staup, and I am graduating from Southern New Hampshire University with a BA in Psychology. It is my hope to provide guidance to those who seek a path of self-awareness and human compassion. I would like to welcome you to my portfolio and share my journey of education and professional work. The links above will provide insight into specific themes for you to explore regarding areas of interest, development, and growth of knowledge both personally and professionally.
Throughout my studies, I have been exposed to psychological concepts such as behavioral theories, cognitive processes, and how our personality develops. All of these concepts have opened my mind to how they can be applied to the various themes on this site. It's more than simply learning and understanding the significance of various psychological data, it is how can it be related to the world we live in. The improvement of my soft skills such as social awareness, self-regulation, and being an effective communicator has promoted the development of my professional mindset. The one skill I have acquired most of all that will promote my ability to thrive in a changing professional environment is being able to question and reflect. Through the many resources from my courses, I am better able to take my time with information before offering my opinion which has improved my leadership skills. The key to managing constant change is taking time to absorb and reflect before jumping to action. Change is constant, but our ability to manage how we handle it is how we thrive.
Thank you for your interest.
